President, Japan Council for Decarbonization Business Promotion (January 2022 - Present)
After graduating from university, Mr. Kasahara began his career in advertising, IT, and publishing industries before joining a major beverage manufacturer. Based primarily in Silicon Valley, he focused on enhancing operational efficiency through partnerships with U.S. firms. After leaving the company, he became independent, leveraging his business experience in the U.S. to support Japanese SMEs in developing American market channels. He has collaborated with legal professionals, banks, and law firms in Japan and the U.S. to assist with contracts and receivables management. Subsequently, at the invitation of government agencies, he participated in numerous projects related to regional revitalization, business restructuring, and market development for SMEs, as well as risk management for U.S. market entry. He is known for his guiding principle, "Needs Drive Seeds," and has successfully facilitated many matches between companies with complementary needs and offerings. Recently, he has assisted Princeton University incubation facilities and American banks in supporting companies entering the Japanese market. For one of these companies, he obtained the exclusive import and distribution rights in Japan for "A-pex10," a natural liquid humic acid. Originally intended as an agricultural resource, he recognized its potential as a carbon-neutral material for use on farmland. While visiting municipalities across Japan, he noticed that carbon neutrality awareness was unevenly distributed across regions. This led him to establish Japan’s first "Carbon Neutral Certification," with the goal of raising awareness and standardizing knowledge.
